Why study as an APL candidate?
A dance performance career can last on average 7-10 years, after this time many dancers move into other stimulating career paths, including choreography, staging or dance teaching.
Many performers during their training may not have completed a dance teacher training qualification. The ISTD Level 3 Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) and Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) are EU accredited dance teaching qualifications that will fully prepare you for a career in dance teaching.

Advice from the ISTD website
To begin studying for the qualifications you must register with an Approved Dance Centre.
If you need to complete any of the practical units of Module 1 or 3, you must be registered with an Approved Dance Centre local to you.
If you only need to complete the written parts of the qualification (the units of Module 2 and/or the Background to Chosen Dance Genre Essay), you may choose to register through an Approved Dance Centre local to you,or ISTD London Centre.
